The word of the prophet
This project is about the story of ‘The Crow’, as narrated by Elder Greg Simms. The story is handed down among the Aboriginal peoples in La Perouse and Blue mountain. ‘The Crow’ draws on Indigenous Knowledge of the land. A part of this story is made of kinetic typography.
Acknowledgement of Country
This work reflects the stories of the Aboriginal peoples, specifically the Gundungurra and Darug Nation in Blue Mountain, and the Boorooberongal people, the Bidiagal people and the Gamaygal people upon whose ancestral lands our university stands. This project tells a story of Country, recounted by Uncle Greg, an Elder with ancestral ties to the land. I also would like to pay my respects to the traditional custodians of this land, past, present and future.
